So begins the show crafted by composer Stephen Sondheim and M*A*S*H creator Larry Gelbart.
It tells the tale of a crafty Roman slave, who vows to win the hand of a beautiful but
dim-witted virgin courtesan for his master, in exchange for his freedom. Along the way,
we are introduced to a cacophony of crazy characters, leggy lovelies and preposterous plot twists.
Producer David Villiers says "The aim is to bring one of the funniest shows ever written to the
local stage. The show is so rarely done, yet it has one of the most hilarious plots,
and catchiest scores out there. We promise a great night out for anyone that wants to
come and see the show! Who could ask for anything more? (Oh no, that’s a different show)".
